A leg up on 2011.</title><summary type='text'>Check out the great article that USA Triathlon put together about my brother, sister-in-law and me. So, obviously, I didn't go to Budapest.  After a lot of thinking and a very shaky few weeks of training, I made the decision that it was in my best interests to not race at the Grand Final.  It was anything but an easy decision, however, I have no regrets about making it. I started wearing it on my suit after my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer about 3 years ago.  She fought through surgery, chemo and radiation and has now been cancer free for over 2 years.  I continue to wear the ribbon as a reminder that you can never stop fighting. The field was really small, with only 25 starters, but with a number of 2008 Olympians on the start line, I was in good company.
